Sino-German Paleontological Museum is the main hall of Jinzhou Fossil and Granite National Geopark of Liaoning, and officially opened to the public on August 18, 2008. This is the first paleontological and fossil museum built with foreign investment in mainland China, a national AAA level tourist attraction, a popular science base of Liaoning Province, and a demonstration base of popular science education of Yixian County.
The museum located in Toutai Town, Yixian County, Jinzhou City of Liaoning Province, and covering an area of 40,000㎡. The design style of the museum highlight the characteristics of paleontological fossil including an exhibition hall of paleontological fossil, a forest of petrified wood, a professional excavation site, an artificial lake, a log cabin camp and other garden landscapes.
Using its own unique advantages, the museum not only develop geological and paleontological tourism and popular science, but also undertake the business about copying and leasing of the paleontological skeletons on a global scale, and especially offered a series of courses such as DIY the small fossils, the investigation and identification of the stratigraphic profile, the simulated excavation and restoration of fossils, and so on. Therefore it has become a popular base of the study trip and the parent-child tourism.
